Kung Pao Shrimp Recipe


Shrimp makes everything better, even spicy Kung Pao.


Ingredients:

32 oz. Shrimp

4 tsp. Green Onion, chopped

20 Whole Chile Pods

2 tsp. Crushed Red Pepper

2 tsp. Garlic, minced

Sesame Oil

1/2 Cup Roasted Peanuts, skinless


Sauce

1 tsp. Chili Paste with Garlic

1 Tbsp. Sherry

2 Tbsp. Soy Sauce

1 tsp. Sugar

1 tsp. Rice Vinegar

1/4 Cup Chicken Broth

1 tsp. Sesame Oil

1 tsp. Cornstarch


Directions:

Heat the wok until it’s smoking, and add the shrimp and oil, stir for 2 minutes.


Now it’s time for the sauce, blend the chili paste with garlic, sherry, soy sauce, sugar, rice vinegar, chicken broth, sesame oil, and cornstarch.


Pour shrimp and oil into an oil skimmer.  Then stir-fry the chile pods and onions, and add the garlic and sauce.


Add the shrimp back in, and add the peanuts.  You can add chile flakes to your tastes as well.
