Steamed Dumplings Recipe

Here’s a great healthy Chinese appetizer, also called Pot Stickers.

Ingredients:

1 lb. Lean Boneless Pork, minced

4 tsp. Soy Sauce

1/2 tsp. Rice Wine

1/2 tsp. fresh Ginger, chopped

2 tsp. Salt

1/2 tsp. Sugar

4 1/2 Cups Flour, sifted

9 oz. Cold Water

4 oz. Sesame Oil

Directions:

In a bowl, mix the pork with rice wine, soy sauce, ginger, salt, and sugar, until it becomes a paste.  Add in the sesame oil, and mix well.

Add the water gradually to the flour and knead into dough.  Let them rest, and then on a flour board, knead until the dough is firm and elastic.

Cut the dough and roll into 1/2 oz. balls, and flatten each lightly with your hand, to a 3” circle, making the center thicker than the edges.

Place 1 Tbsp. of filling into the center of each circle, and pinch the edges together into 18 pleats.  Place the dumplings into a steamer and let steam for 5 minutes over high heat.

And Enjoy!
